A few days ago, Twitter unveiled its plans for a fully re-designed profile. The first thing we noticed was the similarities to Facebook’s Timeline, with a large wide photo reminiscent of Facebook’s Cover Photo, and a smaller Profile picture. Some great things about the change include the more prominent location of your stats (Number of Tweets, Following, Followers, etc.) as well as the addition of Photos/Videos and Favorites to your stats. Now when visitors to your profile page click on the Photos/Videos link, they will be directed to a Media page where all your media Tweets are compiled. This is great news for media-heavy sharers!
What’s new about the new you? The new web profile lets you use a larger profile photo, customize your header, show off your best Tweets and more. Here are main features:
Best Tweets: Tweets that have received more engagement will appear slightly larger, so your best content is easy to find.
Pinned Tweet: Pin one of your Tweets to the top of your page, so it’s easy for your followers to see what you’re all about.
Filtered Tweets: Now you can choose which timeline to view when checking out other profiles. Select from these options: Tweets, Tweets with photos/videos, or Tweets and replies.
The new profile will be rolled out to existing users in the coming weeks. To make sure you are ready, make sure you have a nice wide “cover photo”, a larger profile picture, and a cool Tweet to pin at the top of your page.
